Nelson Mandela – one of the 20th Century’s most iconic figures who left an enormous legacy would have turned 100 (💯) years old on Wednesday, 18th July.
Imprisoned for 27 years for his political activism against South Africa’s racist apartheid system, his successful struggle against South Africa’s apartheid system of racial segregation and discrimination made him a global symbol for the cause of human rights of which he became the first black president of South Africa (🇿🇦) and earned him the Nobel Prize.
Five years on from his death, Mandela continues to be a source of inspiration for those who want to change the world in the face of injustice and adversity.
