Happy Music Monday Beloveds ❤️
Grateful for another week and reflecting on the weekend gone with all the events that occurred, I can only be thankful for loved ones and for the music.
Talking about music, I wanted to send a big shoutout to Ava Raiin. Her summer 2016 release ‘Eagle Eye’ is one of my favorite songs which reflects my thoughts on my Renaissance Journey.
The single and video ‘Eagle Eye’ received positive reviews from AfroPunk and was named Vimeo ‘Staff Pick’.
I have known Ava Raiin for so many years and have carefully followed her music. Still remember whenever I visited NYC & Texas back then, she was so passionate about the music and knew that she was pre-destined for greatness. I was so gutted that she could not sing at my wedding to my ex-husband (now) as she was called to tour with Chrisette Michele at the last minute. But being the amazing person that she is, flew straight down to London after her tour to chill with us all.
Ava Raiin is an experimental R&B artist, singer/songwriter, and performer. With no existing connections to break into the music industry, Ava began to make her rounds in the artist circuit, singing cover songs in showcases and local open mic nights. A series of fateful meetings and introductions led her to stints in modeling, full-time creative production and eventually touring gigs as a background singer and featured vocalist with a range of artists across the music spectrum.
During the last few years, Ava has shared the stage and collaborated with Melissa Etheridge, Blood Orange / Dev Hynes, Chrisette Michele, Solange Knowles and others, all while perfecting her own sound.
Ava Raiin’s debut album “AVA RAIIN’ was released on August 18th and debuted at #9 on the Billboard R&B album sales chart, ranked highly on 4 other Billboard charts and also on iTunes at #6 for R&B and Top 40 for All-Genres.
A review of Ava Raiin’s album by Solange Knowles’ blog Saint Heron described her as an “audio-diva superhero”!
Her music is R&B fused with electronic alternative which has created a sound that is so experimental and cinematic while remaining true to her R&B roots vocally—the epitome of a modern creative.
The world ain’t fully ready yet but we always have been.
Do check Ava Raiin out and show her some real love everyone.
Good music for the Soul ???
